Without this tool I would work at least 5 hours more
5 hours every single week - that's 260 hours wasted per year
When you don’t outsource, you need tools.
The tool I’m going to share with you today, easily saves me one hour of work every day. It’s not new… but most people I talk to doesn’t know such a tool exists.
Where do you waste time
I’ve been using similar tools since around 2000.
But I know where it saves me time. It’s when I do one of these many things:
Install something again that needs a license code.
Write the same thing to lots of people.
Want to create a PayPal-me link with a different amount every time
Need to capitalize a headline
Want to add a subscribe form for a new product
And millions of other small tasks. It all adds up.
Do you waste time doing such tasks?
Then you’re going to love this tool.
PC or Mac?
When I had a Mac, I used Typinator.
When I switched back to PC, I tried several programs. My favorite ended up being the cheapest actually.
It’s called FastKeys and I’ve had such great service from the vendor. There’s a forum, too, where you can get help - even when you want something more complicated like using FastKeys to pick a random quote from a text file.
You pick the “code”
I no longer remember if you can pick the whole code on Typinator.
With FastKeys, you can pick anything you like. I used to use the hashtag, but when they became popular that ruined my workflow. If I wrote #ppme because I had that as a hashtag on Twitter (back then), it would give me the PayPal me link and not add the hashtag.
So, I switched to using a $ (dollar sign).
Now, if I want it to give me a PayPal me link, it looks like this:
Did you see how fast that ways? And no thinking involved. I just typed the code, filled in the amount and done!
That was just one example
Imagine using such a tool for all kinds of time-wasters every day.
I have maybe hundreds in there.
What happens if you don’t remember the code?
I have organized my short codes in different groups.
Games
Medium
Codes
Email
And others
This gives me a quick overview.
Most of the time, I remember the code, though, because I’ve used my own keyword and chosen a logical one.
Will this be helpful to you?
Talk soon,
Britt Malka
